Iraq Vows Comprehensive Support for Palestinians Amid Israeli Aggression

Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) chairman Faleh Al-Fayyad declared on Saturday that Iraq is committed to fulfilling its obligations to the Palestinian people on multiple fronts, encompassing aid and military assistance. As occupied Palestine grapples with intense Israeli aggression, Al-Fayyad assured that Iraq would stand as a steadfast ally, rejecting any plans to displace the people of Gaza.

In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Al-Fayyad emphasized the impracticality of displacing Gazans and categorically stated, "It is impossible for Iraq to be a gateway to inflict harm on Palestinians; it will be a platform to support them." Referring to the recent "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood," he portrayed the Israeli occupation as shaken, pointing to the United States as a key accomplice in its alleged crimes.

Attributing the actions of the Resistance to a response against the occupation's crimes, Al-Fayyad asserted that Iraq would be the primary pillar of support for the Palestinian Resistance, adamantly opposing any U.S. backing for the occupation against the Palestinian people.

In a significant move, Al-Fayyad disclosed that the Iraqi Parliament would convene an extraordinary session on Sunday to express support for Gaza and initiate donation collections for the cause. Reflecting on the outcomes of "Operation Al-Aqsa Flood," he anticipated significant consequences, particularly in the context of normalization efforts, stating, "The consequences of what happened in the Gaza Strip are significant, and their results will soon become apparent, especially in the issue of normalization." The statement underscores Iraq's commitment to actively support the Palestinian cause in the face of ongoing hostilities.
